Action / Mechanism of Action
Xylometazoline Hydrochloride acts as a sympathomimetic decongestant that constricts nasal blood vessels and helps reduce congestion. Sodium Cromoglycate acts locally on the nasal mucosa as a mast cell stabilizer, helping prevent the release of mediators involved in allergic reactions.
Indications / Uses
For the prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis, including hay fever and perennial rhinitis, when accompanied by nasal congestion.
Dosage and Administration
Two sprays into each nostril twice daily, or as directed by the physician.
Contraindications
Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product.
Warnings
- To avoid the possible spread of infection, this pack should be used by one person only.
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage, especially in children and older adults.
- Do not use decongestants for more than seven consecutive days unless directed by a physician. Prolonged or excessive use may cause nasal congestion to return or worsen.
Precautions
Prolonged use or misuse of decongestants may cause rebound congestion or drug-induced rhinitis.
Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Transient nasal irritation may occur. Bronchospasm has been reported rarely.
